The Brief
A digital home for the club
Surf Coast Cricket Club needed a modern web presence that could bring together fixtures, team information, club news, and sponsor recognition in one place — accessible to members, families, and the wider community across Victoria's Surf Coast.
The brief was clear: build something that felt professional enough to attract sponsors and players, but warm enough to reflect the community-first culture at the club's core.
The Approach
Bold identity, clean structure
The club's red and gold palette becomes the primary design language — assertive in the hero, controlled throughout the content. Every section has a clear job: fixtures are scannable, team rosters are browsable, sponsors are prominent without being obtrusive.
Built and deployed on GitHub Pages with zero dependencies — fast everywhere, including regional mobile connections where a lot of club content gets consumed.
Palette
Club red and gold as primary drivers. Off-white for warmth. The colour system mirrors the playing kit — the site feels like the club.
Navigation
Flat, tab-style navigation keeps the main sections — Fixtures, Teams, News, Partners — one tap from anywhere on the site.
Performance
Zero frameworks, zero build step. Hosted on GitHub Pages. Loads fast on mobile data, where most club members browse between overs.
Sponsors
Partner logos sit in a dedicated section rather than buried in a footer — giving sponsors the visibility they're paying for.
